CLEARSTEM was born from the personal acne struggles of its founders. Kayleigh Christina, a holistic nutritionist, developed numerous health issues, including severe cystic acne in her mid-twenties, and found no relief through traditional treatments. After countless visits to doctors, dermatologists, and specialists, she tried one last option before resorting to Accutane: a consultation with future co-founder Danielle at the San Diego Acne Clinic. Danielle’s holistic approach identified over 12 acne triggers in Kayleigh’s lifestyle, leading to clear skin within two months—without scarring.
Danielle Gronich, known as The Acne Guru®, is a Licensed Clinical Esthetician and the founder of the San Diego Acne Clinic. She studied cellular biology and genetics throughout her education and always had a passion for solving acne, as she struggled with it for decades. Despite trying three rounds of Accutane, antibiotics, birth control, and multiple laser treatments, she found no solution. Taking a leap of faith, she left the corporate world, dove into clinical research, and returned to school to find answers, ultimately earning her Clinical Esthetician and Acne Specialist license.
Determined to deliver safer, more effective alternatives to conventional skincare, Danielle opened the San Diego Acne Clinic in 2014 and earned her reputation as The Acne Guru®, achieving a 98% success rate in clearing her patients' skin across all ages, ethnicities, and skin types.
In 2016, she partnered with Kayleigh Christina, who was also frustrated by the limited options for treating acne. Together, they discovered that most conventional acne treatments contain toxic, hormone-disrupting ingredients, while anti-aging products are filled with pore-clogging fillers. This revelation drove them to create CLEARSTEM—a brand committed to providing safe, effective solutions for both acne and aging.
